Description

An assortment of 20th-century technical measuring and calculating instruments. The collection includes several slide rules of varying designs, featuring models by Aristo in a cardboard box, Thornton in a black protective sleeve, and a Scholar model in a branded box. Further slide rules are present in green and grey protective cases, with scales clearly legible on plastic or celluloid-faced wood bodies. The group contains two modern digital vernier calipers, each housed in a fitted black plastic case, with one marked Distag QCS on the stainless steel scale. Also included is a selection of precision gauges, comprising two dial indicators in velvet-lined cases, one with a French instruction sheet titled Mode d’Emploi, and a hand-held mechanical tachometer by Pivo, contained in its original cardboard box with several interchangeable drive tips. The items are constructed from materials including stainless steel, plastic, wood, and cardboard.

Condition report:

The instruments appear to be in good aesthetic condition with clear markings and legible scales. There is varying age-related wear, scuffing, and staining to the original cardboard boxes and protective sleeves. The mechanical function and accuracy of the dial indicators and tachometer have not been verified, and the digital calipers are untested for electronic operation.
