Description
A collection of assorted mantel and anniversary clocks of various periods and styles. The assortment includes a Metamec carriage-style mantel clock with a gilt metal rectangular case, glass panels, and a top carry handle. The dial features a black centre with a gilt chapter ring, Roman numerals, and is marked Metamec Quartz and Made in England. The collection also features a Kundo anniversary clock with a mechanical torsion movement and four-ball pendulum, set on a gilt metal base with matching pillars under a glass dome. The cream-coloured dial is decorated with floral sprays and Arabic numerals. Included is a large rectangular wooden mantel clock with a dark finish, silvered dial, Roman numerals, and two winding holes. A smaller shaped wooden mantel clock features a bracket-style case with circular wood-grain inlay and a cream dial with Arabic numerals and a single winding hole. The group is completed by a modern arched mantel clock with a cream and gilt-bordered finish and a minimalist dial featuring Roman numerals.
Condition report:
All items exhibit signs of age-related wear, including surface dust and minor oxidation to gilt surfaces. The wooden cases show light scuffs and scratches. The glass dome on the torsion clock appears intact. No winding keys are visible. Movements are untested and the working order of all clocks is unknown.
