Description
A porcelain vase from the Rosenthal Classic collection of rounded ovoid form with a tapered foot. The vessel is finished in a high-gloss black glaze, featuring a prominent vertical panel of matt grey biscuit porcelain in high relief. The decorative panel depicts birds, possibly doves or pigeons, amidst a dense arrangement of scrolling acanthus foliage and pomegranates. The background of the relief panel is finely stippled. The underside bears a white printed factory mark consisting of a crown above crossed lines, with the name Rosenthal in script, the word classic in lowercase, and GERMANY in uppercase. A small, separately applied green mark of the letter B is also present on the base.
Condition report:
The vase is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restorations. The black glaze remains bright and free from significant surface wear, and the relief decoration is crisp and well-defined.
