Lot 67:
Description
An assortment of writing instruments and novelty curiosities, featuring a themed assembly identified as a vampire slaying kit. This themed set comprises a large wooden crucifix with a composition figure of Christ and an INRI scroll, a turned wooden stake, two black metal folding compasses, and a glass and metal medical syringe marked Medica Record.
The collection features multiple writing instruments, including a PepsiCo promotional fountain pen with a black resin barrel and gold-tone appointments. The cap band is engraved Companhia de Bebidas PepsiCo and the pen is fitted with a gold-tone steel nib stamped Iridium Point Germany. Also present is a black resin fountain pen with gold-tone trim and a similar Iridium Point Germany nib, alongside a novelty Tiger Bamboo desk pen with a mottled barrel and a miniature metal pickaxe terminal. Further items include a cased two-piece writing set with light-coloured wood barrels in a fitted wooden presentation box, and a boxed Dutch three-piece writing set (3-delige schrijfset) in original retail packaging.
The lot is completed by miscellaneous items including a small wooden coffee grinder, a lion figurine with copper-tone chains, a commemorative medal for Harald Linnartz, a large bronze-tone medal depicting Commodore Jacques Yves Cousteau, a belt buckle featuring a revolver design, and various brass drafting tools including a protractor and dividers.
Condition report:
Items range from used condition to as-new in original packaging. The loose pens show typical signs of use including light surface scratching and minor brassing to plated metal components. Oxidation is present on the pickaxe terminal of the bamboo pen and on some brass drafting components. The medical syringe and compasses show age-appropriate wear. Nibs appear straight but have not been tested for ink flow. Typical of mixed lots, these items are sold as seen.
