Description
A mid-20th-century child’s toy sewing machine, attributed to the manufacturer Casige of Germany. The machine is constructed from cast metal with a black crinkle-texture finish. It is a hand-operated model featuring a spoked handwheel with a polished metal rim and a black plastic handle grip. The arm of the machine is decorated with a central decal showing the word baby in gold cursive script on a green background. It retains its original needle bar, presser foot, and top-mounted circular tensioning assembly. The unit is mounted on an integral rectangular cast base.
Condition report:
The machine is in good vintage condition. The black crinkle finish remains largely intact with minor surface wear and light dust consistent with age. The baby decal shows some wear and minor losses to the borders but remains clearly legible. Surface oxidation is visible on unpainted metal components, including the spool pins and tensioner. The handwheel turns freely and the needle bar mechanism is operational.
