Description
This collection comprises several small decorative items including three various bottles and a pounce pot. The first item is a clear glass snuff bottle decorated using the inside-painting technique, depicting a traditional Chinese river landscape with figures in a boat beneath a rocky outcrop and small calligraphic characters. It is fitted with a stopper featuring a purple hardstone finial. The second item is a faceted porcelain flask-form bottle decorated in underglaze blue with a single-masted sailing ship on water under a cloudy sky. It features a metal collar and cap with impressed characters that are not clearly legible. The third item is a light blue opaque glass or porcelain bottle of ovoid form, hand-painted with floral sprays in shades of yellow, red, and white with brown foliage. It is fitted with a domed white-metal cap. The fourth item is a hemispherical pounce pot or shaker finished in a monochrome turquoise blue glaze with circular piercings to the top, set upon a raised gilded circular base.
Condition report:
All items show general surface wear and patination consistent with age and handled use. The inside-painted glass bottle appears to be in good condition. The blue and white flask shows some tarnishing to the metal components. The floral enamelled bottle exhibits minor age-related wear to the metal cap. The turquoise pounce pot shows some wear to the gilding on the base. No major structural damage, repairs, or significant losses are visible.
