Description
A fossil ammonite specimen of substantial size, possibly from the Perisphinctidae family. The specimen exhibits a planispiral form with clear ribbing along the outer whorls. The central umbilicus on the obverse is filled with a textured, mineralised matrix, showing crystalline structures formed during fossilisation. The reverse side is partially prepared, retaining elements of the original geological matrix and displaying a naturally weathered appearance. The colouration ranges from light tan to darker earthy tones.
Diameter: Approximately 16 cm.
Condition report:
The specimen is in a stable condition and has been partially prepared to reveal the primary features on one face. There are visible signs of natural weathering and adhering matrix typical of unprocessed or semi-processed fossils. No modern structural repairs or restorations are evident.
