Lot 131:
Description
This collection comprises multiple miniature novelty and carriage-style desk clocks, predominantly constructed from cast brass and gold-toned plated metal, including one ornate silver-toned metal example. The assortment features a diverse range of forms including a horse-drawn carriage, a vintage motorcycle, a ship steering wheel with a wood-effect rim, a street lantern, a classical guitar, and a vintage-style camera. The group also includes a triple-dial world time clock on a horizontal bar stand, a miniature longcase clock, and several carriage clocks of varying sizes. Other forms include an arched acrylic desk clock and a square travel-style timepiece. Most dials are white with a mix of Roman and Arabic numerals. While maker marks are visible on some dials, they are not clearly legible at this resolution; however, the collection is in the style of manufacturers such as Elgin, Linden, or Timex. The movements are likely a combination of quartz and mechanical types.
Overall width of grouping as displayed: approximately 53 cm.
Condition report:
The collection is in good overall condition, showing typical light surface wear, minor oxidation to some brass surfaces, and an accumulation of dust consistent with age and display. The silver-toned clock frame shows some light tarnishing. Movement functionality has not been tested and batteries may require replacement for quartz models.
