Lot 132:
Description
A set comprising three scale model aircraft representing the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, attributed to the Corgi Aviation Archive. The collection features one Avro Lancaster four-engine heavy bomber, marked with the fuselage code KM-B and a small red and white Polish Air Force emblem, alongside two Supermarine Spitfire single-engine fighters in camouflaged livery. The models are constructed from die-cast metal and are mounted in a flying formation over a base depicting an aerial photograph of the English countryside. The display is housed within a clear acrylic case and includes an enamelled metal badge topped with a royal crown. The badge is inscribed with MEMORIAL FLIGHT and ROYAL AIR FORCE on a blue ring, with a gold-coloured scroll at the bottom bearing the phrase LEST WE FORGET.
Condition report:
The model aircraft appear to be in excellent condition with no visible missing parts or paint loss. The clear acrylic display case is present and shows light surface scuffing and dust consistent with display and handling.
