Description
A French Médaille d’honneur du travail (Labour Honour Medal) struck in silver-toned metal and suspended from a tricolour red, white, and blue ribbon. The obverse features a right-facing profile bust of Marianne, the national personification of the French Republic, with the surrounding inscription REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE. The reverse bears the circular inscription MINISTERE DU TRAVAIL ET DE LA SECURITE SOCIALE. The central field contains a raised rectangular cartouche engraved with the recipient’s name C. KERDILES and the date 1951, set against a background of laurel branches and a caduceus.
Condition report:
Good. The medal displays significant surface wear, overall heavy toning, and numerous fine scratches across both faces. The ribbon shows minor fraying and fading consistent with age.
