Lot 146:
Description
A German travel cutlery set manufactured by Pfeilring in Solingen. The set comprises three pieces: a folding pocket knife with a single blade, a folding three-tine fork featuring an integrated side-mounted corkscrew, and a large fixed spoon. Each component is fitted with cream-coloured handles, likely celluloid or a similar early synthetic, which are secured with metal pins. The tools are made from polished steel. The set is housed in its original tan leather zippered pouch with internal leather retaining loops. The maker’s mark Pfeilring Solingen is gold-stamped on a leather tab inside the case.
Condition report:
The set is in good vintage condition. The metal components maintain a high polish with no significant signs of corrosion, pitting, or heavy wear to the edges. The cream-coloured handles are intact and free from cracks or major discolouration. The leather case shows light surface wear and minor scuffing to the edges consistent with age, and the zipper remains in good functional order.
