Lot 18:
Description
A trio of cold-cast bronze sculptures comprising two rural studies and one modern stylized figure. The group includes an elderly countryman seated with a dog or lamb in his lap, a shepherd wearing a flat cap leaning against a dry stone wall with a ram and lamb at his feet, and a central modern figure of a seated nude female with her knees drawn to her chest. The male figures are rendered in a traditional pastoral style with textured surfaces and a dark brown patina. The central female figure exhibits smooth, elongated forms and a charcoal-grey finish characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century decorative art. These items are manufactured from a composite resin material impregnated with bronze powder. No maker marks, artist signatures, or foundry stamps are visible on any of the pieces.
Elderly man: 18 cm x 15 cm x 12 cm
Seated female: 28 cm x 13 cm x 15 cm
Shepherd: 22 cm x 15 cm x 10 cm.
Condition report:
The sculptures are in good overall condition. There is a light accumulation of surface dust and minor evidence of shelf wear to the underside of the bases. No visible chips, cracks, or restorations were observed.
