Lot 77:
Description
An early 20th-century Goliath pocket watch travel clock. The watch features a large white metal case with a brass-tone bezel, housing a mechanical manual-wind movement. The white dial is set with black Roman numeral hour markers, a railroad-style outer minute track, and two black spade-shaped hands. The text 8 DAYS is printed in an arc above the 6 o’clock position. The watch is contained within its original fitted travel case, constructed from leather-covered wood or card with a plush-lined interior and a hinged lid. The watch is wound and set via the large fluted crown at the 12 o’clock position.
Condition report:
The leather travel case exhibits significant age-related wear, including scuffing, loss of leather at the edges and corners, and deterioration of the internal fabric lining. The watch case shows surface wear, scratches, and a circular patch of residue or tarnish on the reverse. The dial appears generally intact. The movement is untested and its functionality is not guaranteed.
