Description
A reproduction figurine of the Capitoline Venus, known in Italian as Venere Capitolina, depicted in the classical Venus Pudica or modest pose. The goddess is shown standing nude with her weight on her left leg, using her hands to cover her breasts and pubic area. She stands beside an urn draped with a tasselled cloth. The figure is manufactured from a cast composite material, such as bonded alabaster or resin, with a matte beige finish. The front face of the rectangular pedestal base is incised with the inscription VENERE CAPITOLINA. Based on the Italian inscription and material, this piece is a 20th-century decorative reproduction of the famous Roman marble statue housed in the Capitoline Museums.
Height: approximately 29.8 cm
Base width: approximately 8.5 cm.
