Description

A trio of writing instrument lots featuring Italian, American-brand, and British designs. The first lot comprises an Aurora ‘Thesi’ ultra-slim flat ballpoint pen, designed by Marco Zanuso circa 1970. The pen is constructed from brushed silver-toned metal with black resin accents and features a push-button slide advance mechanism. It is accompanied by its original brown presentation box and a paper tag with the manufacturer’s details: AURORA SpA Strada Abbazia di Stura 200 10156 TORINO. The second lot is a Parker writing set, identified as the Vector series, consisting of a ballpoint pen and a mechanical pencil. Both instruments feature black resin barrels with brushed stainless steel caps and signature arrow clips, presented in a blue and grey Parker hardshell case with a clear lid. The third lot is a vintage British Conway Stewart No. 286 lever-fill fountain pen. The barrel and cap are crafted from marbled "crushed ice" celluloid in shades of blue, silver-grey, and black. The barrel bears the incised imprint The Conway Stewart No 286 MADE IN ENGLAND. The nib is transcribed as WARRANTED 14K GOLD.

Aurora box: 21.6 cm length

Parker case: 16.5 cm width

Conway Stewart pen (capped): 12.7 cm length.

Condition report:

The Aurora \'Thesi\' appears to be in excellent, unused condition, consistent with New Old Stock. The original packaging shows minor age-related shelf wear. The Parker set is in good used condition; the presentation case shows surface scuffing and a small crack to the plastic lid near the hinge. The Conway Stewart fountain pen exhibits vibrant celluloid colour with no visible cracks. There is noticeable brassing and plating loss to the gold-toned clip and cap bands. The nib appears straight and the lever mechanism is intact, though the internal ink sac likely requires replacement for functional use.
