Lot 122:
Description
This collection of flatware comprises several cased sets and loose items of Dutch and English styles. A prominent cased set of twelve spoons is by Keltum (Koninklijke Gerritsen en van Kempen, Zeist), featuring tapered handles and housed in a box marked with the manufacturer’s name. A smaller set of coffee or salt spoons is presented in a box marked Gero Zilmeta, indicating the use of a proprietary Dutch stainless steel alloy. A large box contains a quantity of loose forks in a traditional Beaded pattern with a row of small spheres along the handle edges. Other cased sets include a part-service of knives and forks with hollow handles in a blue-lined box, a set of six large spoons in a textured orange case, and a set of pastry forks. The items are constructed from a mix of stainless steel and silver-plated white metal. No sterling silver hallmarks are visible on the pieces.
Condition report:
The items are in used, auction-grade condition. Surface scratching and tarnish are evident across many pieces, consistent with age and regular use. Some presentation boxes show external scuffing and wear to the interior linings.
