Description
A collection of 20th-century philatelic material from the UK and DE, comprising multiple stockbooks, albums, and specialized research material. The German portion features early 20th-century issues, including high-denomination hyperinflation stamps, mid-century definitives, and various overprints, commonly referenced in the Michel catalogue. British material includes a Great Britain Commemorative Stamps album and a detailed handwritten research notebook titled Northern Ireland Decimal Regional. This notebook contains a specialized study of Machin definitive stamps, with technical notes on phosphor band configurations and denominations including 3p ultramarine and 3 1/2d olive grey, as typically catalogued by Stanley Gibbons. Also present is a 1966 GPO Christmas commemorative cover and several pages of modern UK commemorative issues depicting dogs and landmarks. The lot includes an assortment of mint and used examples, with many used stamps bearing circular date stamp cancellations. Loose stamps on paper and various commercial covers are also included.
Condition report:
The albums and stockbooks exhibit signs of shelf wear to the bindings and minor toning to the pages. Occasional foxing and light creases are present on older covers and loose material. Perforations and centring appear standard for the periods and issues represented.
