Lot 158:
Description
A pair of antique wooden clogs, each hand-carved from a single block of wood. The design features a traditional rounded toe and an open-back heel, consistent with European folk footwear styles. The exterior of the shoes displays a naturally weathered surface with prominent wood grain and evidence of hand-tooling. The interiors are hollowed out to accommodate the foot, showing a textured finish from the carving process. No maker marks, labels, or regional stamps are visible on either piece.
Length: approximately 28 – 30.5 cm (11 – 12 inches) per shoe.
Condition report:
The clogs are in good, stable condition for their age. The wood exhibits generalized surface wear, scuffs, and minor fissures consistent with age and use. There are no significant structural breaks or modern repairs visible.
