Description
A Hoover toy washing machine and an Amersham Toys cooker, both of British manufacture. The items are constructed from painted pressed steel and tinplate. The Hoover washing machine features a cream-painted body with a horizontal dark red nameplate bearing the brand name in silver-tone lettering. The unit is fitted with a top-mounted manual wringer with rollers and an internal grey plastic tub featuring a central agitator. The Amersham cooker is finished in cream paint with a black cooktop containing two burner plates. The splashback is decorated with a static clock dial and a gold-tone oval manufacturer’s label for Amersham Toys, Made in England. The front of the cooker includes four black control knobs and two hinged oven doors which open to reveal a split interior, each compartment containing a removable black metal shelf.
Cooker height: approximately 34 cm
Washing machine height: approximately 28 cm.
Condition report:
Both items exhibit signs of play-wear and age. The Hoover washing machine shows significant paint loss and surface oxidation, particularly to the manual wringer assembly and the top edges of the metal casing. The internal plastic tub shows some staining. The Amersham cooker is in fair vintage condition with expected surface wear, minor paint chipping to the edges, and some staining to the interior and exterior surfaces. Knobs and doors are functional. No original boxes are present.
