Description
A mixed collection of approximately 25 decorative figurines and novelty items, predominantly featuring bovine themes together with various character and animal ornaments. The lot includes a large black and white cow-form teapot with lid; a large off-white glazed ceramic cow-form money bank; a brown Highland bull figurine; a standing tan cow figurine; and a seated black and white cow salt and pepper shaker. Also included is a circular lidded ceramic pot with a cow-form finial, resembling the work of Sylvac. Non-bovine items comprise a group of Three Wise Monkeys in a bisque finish, a cast metal owl, and two miniature glass goats with gilt accents. Character figurines include a figure in traditional Latvian dress marked LATVIJA to the base, a leprechaun, a girl in a green dress with a shamrock, a man with a red tie, and a novelty ceramic head bottle stopper. The collection is completed by a small framed needlework titled CALF and a ceramic bowl featuring a printed pastoral landscape scene. Materials include glazed ceramic, bisque porcelain, cast metal, glass, and a wooden frame.
Large cream cow bank height: approx. 20cm
Brown bull length: approx. 15cm.
Condition report:
The items are in generally fair to good used condition. Visible adhesive residue is present on the large cream cow money bank and the head bottle stopper. The cork on the bottle stopper shows wear and partial loss. Some items exhibit minor surface wear, crazing, and light staining consistent with a mixed lot of decorative ceramics.
