Description

This bronze sculpture, executed in the Animalier style, depicts a pig or hog in a dynamic, struggling pose with its right hind leg tethered by a rope to a low wooden post. The figure is realistically rendered with a textured surface, a curled tail, and an open mouth as if vocalising. The bronze is finished with a dark brown patina and is cast with an integral rocky-ground base. The entire piece is mounted on an oval, polished black stone plinth. No artist signatures, foundry marks, or edition numbers are visible.
Height: 27 cm.

Condition report:

The sculpture exhibits areas of patina wear and localised white scuffing or oxidation, notably on the snout, face, and rear quarters. The bronze surface and stone base appear to be structurally sound without signs of major damage or repair.
