Lot 4:
Description
A novelty decorative object and magnifier designed in the form of a large paintbrush, identified in specialist retail contexts as a Paintbrush Magnifier. The piece features a solid clear glass head with a bevelled, convex profile, allowing it to function as a magnifying lens. The glass mimics the form of bristles and is held by a polished metal ferrule featuring a decorative beaded band around the upper edge. The handle is constructed from turned wood with a natural finish, tapering towards the base. There are no visible maker’s marks or inscriptions present on the object.
Total length: Approximately 10.5 inches.
Condition report:
The item is in good overall condition. The glass lens appears free from chips or cracks. The metal ferrule shows minor surface wear and light oxidation consistent with age and handling. The wooden handle remains structurally sound with only light surface marks.
