Lot 45:
Description
This is a Palitoy Action Man "Talking" figure, an articulated 12-inch scale military action figure. The item features a plastic body with brown flocked hair and the later-style flexible plastic gripping hands. The chest contains a perforated panel for the internal voice mechanism, which is operated via a plastic pull-ring on a string. The figure is dressed in a two-piece olive drab fabric utility uniform consisting of a button-down shirt and trousers, paired with black plastic lace-up boots. Included is a plastic infantry rifle with a brown stock and silver-tone barrel, fitted with a fabric shoulder strap. The figure also carries two embossed metal dog tags on ball chains (one around the neck and one held) which are marked ACTION MAN BY PALITOY.
Height: Approximately 30 cm.
Condition report:
Play-worn vintage condition. There is a notable dark discolouration or stain on the upper right sleeve of the uniform tunic. The fabric strap on the infantry rifle shows signs of fraying. The internal voice mechanism and pull-string are present but remain untested for functionality. General surface dust and minor thinning to the flocked hair are consistent with age and use. No original packaging is present.
