Description
This vintage first aid kit, titled Altman’s First Aid Outfit for Travel, Sport and the Home, is contained within a brown leather folding wallet case. The exterior flap is stamped with the title and a central cross emblem, further marked Altman’s foreign. The case is secured with a brass toned metal latch. Internally, the kit features several specialised compartments. An interior paper insert identifies the manufacturer as Aid Outfit Mnfg. Co. Ltd., London, S.W. 9. The contents include an assortment of glass vials with red and white paper labels for treatments including Iodine, Boric Ointment, Sal Volatile, Bicarbonate of Soda, Acetate of Alum, Tooth Best Qual, and Astringent. Additional components include paper wrapped packages of Boric Lint and a quick dressing, alongside a small wooden applicator tool and printed instructional papers.

Condition report:
The leather case shows significant age related wear, including surface scuffing, deep patina, and dark staining to both the interior and exterior. The metal latch displays surface oxidisation. Interior glass vials are largely intact with original contents; labels and paper inserts exhibit heavy yellowing and minor foxing consistent with age.
