Description
A trio of anthropomorphic glazed earthenware piggy banks manufactured by Wade Ceramics for the National Westminster Bank promotional campaign in the 1980s. The lot includes three distinct characters from the family series: Annabel, wearing a green pinafore dress with a yellow and black striped tie; Woody, in blue dungarees with a red and white striped tie; and Sir Nathaniel, dressed in a black tuxedo with a red bow tie and a red rose boutonniere. Each figurine is designed as a money box with a coin slot to the reverse and a circular aperture at the base. The underside of each figure features the moulded marks WADE and ENGLAND.
Annabel: 15 cm height
Woody: 14 cm height
Sir Nathaniel: 17 cm height.
Condition report:
The figurines are in good vintage condition with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of professional repair. All three pieces retain their original black plastic stoppers. There is minor surface wear consistent with age and handling.
