Description
An assortment of vintage games and gaming equipment primarily constructed from wood, cardboard, and composition materials. The collection includes a large wooden folding games board featuring an inlaid wooden chessboard on the exterior and a backgammon board on the interior. There is a set of composition carpet bowls featuring two with red circular markings and two with blue circular markings, accompanied by a white jack, housed in a Cardinal branded cardboard box. The lot also contains a vintage Lotto or House game in a pictorial cardboard box featuring wooden number tiles. A wooden travel games compendium is included, which opens to reveal a backgammon board and a smaller printed chessboard, containing accessories including dice, playing discs, and a separate slide-top wooden box for chess pieces with a paper insert printed with Chessmen. Additional items comprise a wooden three-track cribbage board with a sliding peg compartment, a Kan-U-Go crossword card game in its original red cardboard box, a small white box bearing the Waddingtons logo, and a wooden slide-top box with a pictorial label marked CHESS.
Condition report:
The items are in vintage, played-with condition throughout. The cardboard boxes show typical signs of age-related wear, including scuffing, edge tears, and some old tape repairs. The wooden boards and boxes show surface scratches and minor signs of use consistent with age. Completeness of all sets and card decks has not been verified.
