Description
A large, elongated, footed wooden bowl, trough-like in form, featuring a dark-stained exterior and a natural wood interior. The bowl contains a collection of carved and turned wooden fruit, including apples, pears, a cluster of grapes, a pinecone, and various other rounded botanical forms. The pieces are crafted from various woods using a combination of wood-turning, hand-carving, and surface texturing techniques. Several items feature red, brown, or black stains to simulate natural colouration while highlighting the underlying wood grain. The ensemble is characteristic of Mid-Century Modern decorative woodcraft. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the bowl or the individual fruit pieces.
