Description
A pair of glazed porcelain figurines produced by Nao, a member of the Lladró group, in Spain. The lot comprises two ducks naturalistically modelled in contrasting poses. One figurine is depicted in an upright, alert position with its neck extended and head raised. The companion figure is modelled in a preening pose, with its neck curved downwards towards its wing. Both pieces are finished in a soft white gloss glaze with subtle grey shading to the bases and wing tips, and pale brown highlights to the beaks.
Both figurines feature a brown factory backstamp to the underside consisting of the Nao name above a stylized sailing ship icon, accompanied by the text HAND MADE IN SPAIN BY LLADRÓ and © DAISA. The preening duck retains a circular paper label printed with 525 over 1 and bears incised marks 21 MR and a single character L. The upright duck bears a faint incised mark of the number 2. The items are accompanied by their original pink cardboard presentation boxes.
Upright duck height: approximately 13 cm
Preening duck height: approximately 10 cm.
Condition report:
Both figurines are in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of professional repair. The glaze remains bright and clear. The original cardboard presentation boxes show some signs of age-related wear, including minor scuffing, creasing to the edges, and light surface marks.
