Description
Tri-ang Minic clockwork toy manufactured by Lines Bros Ltd. This novelty item features a streamlined racing car and a figure of a dog in a pushing or leaping pose. The toy is constructed from pressed tinplate. The car is finished in green paint, while the dog figure features a brown and white painted or lithographed finish with a red collar. The car is fitted with four solid rubber tyres mounted on metal axles. The underside of the vehicle chassis is stamped with the manufacturer marks: LINES BROS, MINIC TOYS, and MADE IN ENGLAND. The item contains an internal clockwork motor with a winding aperture located on the side of the car body.
Overall length: 33 cm (13 inches).
Condition report:
The toy is in played-with condition and exhibits significant signs of age. There is substantial paint loss and widespread surface oxidation across the bodies of both the car and the dog. The rubber tyres are present but show typical hardening, surface cracking, and age-related wear. The clockwork mechanism is present but has not been tested for functionality, and the original winding key is absent. There is no original packaging or box.
