Description
C.A. Morand. A rectangular wood relief panel with a dark oak-effect finish, depicting a detailed rustic interior scene in a folk art style. The composition features a central wood-burning stove with a woman seated on a low stool, while a man carrying a bundle of wood enters from the left. The foreground contains a sleeping dog, an axe in a chopping block, and a woven basket filled with produce. A tall longcase clock stands to the right, and the walls are decorated with various domestic objects including a coffee mill, cooking pots, and a mounted animal head. The piece exhibits significant textural depth and is finished with a warm brown patina. The lower right corner bears the incised signature (C) A. MORAND. The reverse of the panel is flat with a dark stain and is fitted with a wire loop for hanging.

Condition report:
The panel is in good overall condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, or signs of repair to the relief surface. Very minor surface dust is present in the deeper recesses of the carving. The reverse shows light surface scuffing and scratches consistent with wall mounting.
