Description
This lot comprises two vintage boxed sets of lady’s vanity accessories manufactured by Stratton in England. The first set is a two-piece matching handbag accessory collection consisting of a powder compact and a lipstick mirror. Both items are constructed from gold-tone metal and feature coordinated decorative panels with a blue and white rose motif on a white ground, bordered by a navy blue and gold pattern. The powder compact contains its original puff, embossed with the Stratton brand and Made in England. This set is housed in its original brown and white presentation box.
The second item is a Stratton of London Slim Single Mirror powder compact. It features a scalloped, octagonal gold-tone metal casing with a hinged lid. The lid is decorated with a multi-coloured floral bouquet tied with a pink ribbon against a white ground. The compact is presented in its original dark green and gold box with a cream fabric lining and includes the original branded puff and an instructional pamphlet.
Condition report:
Both sets appear to be in very good vintage condition. The gold-tone metal surfaces and decorative floral panels are well-preserved with no significant signs of wear, scratching, or tarnishing. The interior mirrors are intact and the puffs appear clean, suggesting the items may be unused. The original presentation boxes show minor signs of shelf wear and age to the exterior surfaces and corners.
