Description
A vintage coiled horn of a design characteristic of 20th-century sporting and automotive accessories. The instrument is constructed from brass and features a circular coil bound in a dark green textured material, likely leather or a period leatherette. The flared bell is finished with a silver-toned rim, possibly nickel-plated. The design is strongly reminiscent of German pocket hunting horns, such as those produced by B&S, although no manufacturer marks, stamps, or patent dates are visible on this piece. While the form is primarily associated with hunting, this example is identified as a classic accessory for early motor vehicles. A wooden ruler visible in the images is marked Made in England, though this refers to the measuring tool itself.

The horn is in fair vintage condition. The brass surfaces display a natural aged patina with visible tarnishing and minor surface marks. The silver-toned plating on the bell rim shows light wear. The item is missing its original rubber squeeze bulb and the internal reed mechanism.
