Description
A pair of vintage Stratton Lipview powder compacts, manufactured in Birmingham, England. These accessories feature the signature Lipview design with an integrated cylindrical lipstick holder attached to the hinge, designed to pop up upon opening. One compact is finished with a checkerboard mother-of-pearl inlay lid. The other features an all-over engraved foliate scroll pattern on a gold-toned ground. Both interiors include a mirror and a secondary hinged lid for powder. The inner lids are embossed with the Stratton maker mark of a hand holding a compact. One unit includes its original pink fabric sifter and a branded Stratton powder puff. The mirror on one compact retains the original paper instructional label for the patented self-opening mechanism.

Condition report:
Both items exhibit light surface wear and minor tarnishing to the gold-toned finish consistent with age. The mother-of-pearl sections are well-preserved. There is visible cosmetic residue and staining to the internal sifter and fabric puff in one compact. Mechanical hinges and the lipstick pop-up holders appear functional.
