Description
A Schylling Collector Series wind-up toy titled Duck on Bike. The figure is constructed from lithographed tinplate and depicts a duck dressed in a formal red jacket and a multi-coloured propeller hat, seated upon a tricycle. The tricycle features a golden-toned frame, a black plastic front wheel, and black rubberised rear tyres. It is operated by a clockwork mechanism with a fixed winding key located on the right-hand side. According to the packaging, the mechanism allows the toy to roll forward while the propeller on the duck’s hat rotates. The duck’s tail feathers are printed with the mark MADE IN CHINA. The item includes its original illustrated cardboard box, which features a white label identifying it as part of the Schylling Collector Series. The label further specifies that the item is for adult collectors only, for decoration only, and is not a toy. The base of the box is also marked COLLECTABLE ITEM and MADE IN CHINA.
Condition report:
The toy is in very good condition, retaining bright and vibrant lithographed colours with minimal evidence of wear. The clockwork mechanism appears intact. The original cardboard box is complete but shows typical signs of age-related shelf wear, including minor scuffing to the edges, light creasing, and some softening of the corners.
