Description
This large vintage talking plush toy depicts the television character Basil Brush and was manufactured by Wendy Boston in the United Kingdom. The character is constructed from brown and white plush fur and is dressed in a red corduroy jumpsuit featuring a green and white checkered collar and a red corduroy cape. Facial features include a large black nose, two white felt teeth, and a protruding pink felt tongue. The toy incorporates an internal pull-string talking mechanism, which is operated by a white plastic ring located on the front of the jumpsuit. A manufacturer’s fabric label is sewn into the seam of the red outfit, bearing the text: A WENDY BOSTON PLAYSAFE TOY.

Condition report:
The toy is in fair vintage condition. The plush fur shows age-related matting and light surface soiling. The felt details are intact but show minor wear and pilling. The red corduroy outfit is complete but displays some fading and light wear to the nap. The mechanical talking function is currently untested.
