Description
Two vintage vanity accessories comprising a silver-plated mirror by Tiffany & Co. and a yellow-metal powder compact by Kigu of London. The circular Tiffany & Co. mirror features a raised three-dimensional bow motif on the reverse and is stamped TIFFANY & CO. SILVERPLATE on the rim; it is accompanied by a signature turquoise fabric pouch with black lettering. The square Kigu compact features elaborate engine-turned decoration with a central foliate wreath on the lid and a radiating zig-zag pattern to the base. The interior rim is stamped MADE IN ENGLAND and the interior base bears an oval maker’s mark depicting a crown above a triangle containing the letters KGU.
Square compact: 7.6 cm x 7.6 cm
Circular mirror: 7.6 cm diameter.
Condition report:
Both items show signs of age and previous use. The Tiffany & Co. mirror exhibits significant dark tarnish across the silver-plated surface and the accompanying pouch shows minor surface soiling. The Kigu compact displays surface scratches and minor wear to the yellow-metal finish.
