Description
A collection of vintage retail paper carrier bags from the British department store Marks & Spencer, featuring the St Michael brand. The bags are constructed from buff-coloured paper and printed with a central green logo. The design consists of a decorative scrolled cartouche containing the St Michael name in a rectangular box with a registered trademark symbol, the phrase THE BRAND NAME OF, and the Marks & Spencer signature in a cursive script. A black printed manufacturer’s reference code W.B. 4/331. 0771 is present in the lower right corner. These bags date to the mid-20th century and appear to be unused surplus stock.

Length (unfolded): approximately 66 cm.
Condition report:
Good condition. The items are unused old stock showing light creasing from storage and minor age-related discolouration.
