Description
This collection consists of various professional drafting and artistic writing instruments. A W.H. Harling Ltd mathematical instrument set is contained in a blue velvet-lined presentation case with a gold-printed label on the interior lid stating W.H. HARLING LTD MATHEMATICAL INSTRUMENT MANUFACTURERS 117 MOORGATE LONDON E.C.2. ESTABLISHED IN 1848. This set includes several technical drafting rails. A further technical drawing set is housed in a black hardshell case and contains various nickel-plated or steel instruments including compasses and dividers. Calligraphy items include a Sheaffer fountain pen set in a blue metal tin featuring black resin barrels with interchangeable stainless steel nibs and ink cartridges. Two vintage sets of Reeves card stencils are present in their original green paper packets, marked Combination Packet No. 1 and No. 2, made in England. The lot is completed by a sealed pack of five Hobbycraft synthetic flat brushes, a pack of twelve charcoal pencils, and an assortment of loose drawing tools and pencils in plastic bags.
Condition report:
The items range from vintage to modern condition. The technical drafting sets and calligraphy set appear well-maintained within their original cases. The Reeves stencil packets show some age-related wear and discolouration to the card packaging. The charcoal pencils and Hobbycraft brush set remain unused in original retail packaging.
