Lot 153:
Description
This lot comprises seven vintage moulded plastic toy figures, identified as Weebles, produced circa the 1970s. Based on the geographic context and visual consensus, these items are attributed to Airfix, who manufactured the line in the United Kingdom under licence from Hasbro/Romper Room. Each figure features a distinctive egg-shaped form with an internal weighted base, designed to return the toy to an upright position when pushed. The collection includes a variety of characters: one figure in a white sailor cap, an elderly female figure in a shawl, and several children with different hair colours including blonde and orange, wearing various brightly coloured outfits. The figures are constructed from two joined plastic sections with painted details on the face and torso. No manufacturer marks are present on the exterior of the figures.
Each figure stands approximately 5 cm in height.
Condition report:
The collection is in played-with vintage condition. There is visible paint loss and wear across all figures, particularly concentrated on the noses, hands, and hair. Surface scuffing, scratches, and minor ingrained dirt are present throughout the group. The internal wobble mechanisms remain functional.
