Description
A mid-century modern Cornish studio pottery stoneware vase by Louis Hudson. The piece is of rectangular, slab-built form with slightly convex sides. The exterior features impressed and incised decoration in a Brutalist style, comprising a central horizontal band of abstract motifs above three repeating rows of relief triangular patterns. The surface is finished in a matte glaze palette of buff, terracotta, and dark brown, with the darker pigment used to highlight the textured recesses. An impressed square seal mark containing a stylized monogram is located on the lower side of the body. The underside features two diagonal black felt-tip marker lines.

Condition report:
The vase is in good overall condition. There are no apparent chips, cracks, or signs of restoration. The surface exhibits minor wear and natural kiln-grit texture consistent with the age and handmade nature of studio stoneware.
