Description
A Troika Pottery earthenware coffin vase of tall, tapering rectangular form. The piece features a heavy textured glaze in a Brutalist aesthetic with deeply incised and relief-moulded abstract geometric patterns to each face. Decoration includes two circular recessed dimple motifs within a rectangular frame on one side, and an arched motif containing a grid-like pattern surmounted by circular and cross-hatched designs on another. The vase is finished in a palette of earthy brown, cream, buff, and ochre tones. The base bears the hand-painted mark TROIKA in black alongside a cursive monogram for the decorator Louise Jinks.
