Description
This lot comprises two walking canes of contrasting construction. The first item features an L-shaped Derby style handle crafted from a natural material, likely bone or antler, showing a creamy yellow patina and characteristic pithy texture at the terminal. It is joined to a dark, straight-grained hardwood shaft by a white metal collar embossed with a repeating foliate motif. The second item is a rustic walking stick formed from a single piece of natural wood, possibly ash or chestnut, featuring a traditional crook handle and a textured, bark-like surface. Both sticks are fitted with modern black rubber ferrules at the terminals.

Condition report:
Both items show signs of age and use. The bone handle exhibits surface cracking and discoloration consistent with age. The white metal collar shows tarnishing and wear to the high points of the embossed design. The dark wood shaft has minor surface scuffs. The rustic stick shows several old drying cracks and surface abrasions, particularly within the curve of the crook. The rubber ferrules are later additions and show light wear.
