Description

A set of Susie Cooper earthenware tableware in the Dresden Spray pattern, pattern number 1146, manufactured at the Crown Works in Burslem, Staffordshire. The pieces are decorated with hand-painted floral motifs featuring a pink flower, a yellow tulip, and blue and white blossoms set against a cream-coloured ground. The rims are finished with grey-blue concentric banding. This assembly includes a lidded vegetable tureen in the Kestrel shape, featuring a conical lid and integrated handles, alongside two-handled soup bowls and stacks of dinner and side plates. The underside of the items displays the Susie Cooper Production Crown Works Burslem England backstamp with the leaping deer logo and the hand-painted pattern number 1146.

Tureen width approximately 10 inches

Plate diameter approximately 10 inches.

Condition report:

The items are in good vintage condition overall. One soup bowl has a small visible chip to the rim. There is evidence of fine surface crazing and minor wear to the hand-painted banding, which is typical for earthenware of this period.
