Lot 189:
Description
This collection comprises various British military regimental badges and commemorative enamel pins. The group includes a Royal Artillery cap badge in gold-toned metal featuring a field gun and crown with the mottoes Ubique and Quo Fas Et Gloria Ducunt. Also present is a bi-metal South Staffordshire Regiment cap badge with a white metal Stafford knot and crown on a brass scroll, and an East Yorkshire Regiment cap badge designed as an eight-pointed star with a central Yorkshire rose. The lot further contains a Royal Navy Submarine Service qualification badge featuring dolphins and a crowned fouled anchor. Complementing the military insignia are two enamel items: a circular The Lord Mayor’s Belfast Fund WWII charity badge with the red hand of Ulster on a white six-pointed star, and a Carlisle Race Club membership badge dated 1989.
Condition report:
The items are in a condition consistent with age and previous use. The military badges exhibit typical surface oxidation and wear to the high points from polishing. The enamel pins remain largely intact with some light surface scratches and tarnish on the metal backings.
