Description
A sterling silver poison ring featuring a secret compartment accessed via a hinged lid. The circular lid is set with a round faceted iridescent stone, characteristic of mystic topaz, which exhibits a spectrum of rainbow colours. The stone is held in a bezel setting. The base of the compartment is embellished with a double-tiered border comprising a rope-twist motif and a row of silver granulation. The lid is secured by a ball-and-loop catch. The ring has a plain D-section band. The interior of the band is stamped with the fineness mark 925.
Condition report:
The ring is in good functional condition with the hinge and catch operating correctly. There is minor surface wear and light tarnishing to the silver, particularly within the recessed areas of the decorative borders. The stone appears secure in its setting.
