Description
This lot comprises two semi-precious stone beaded necklaces. The first is a single strand of round lapis lazuli beads, displaying a characteristic deep blue body colour with visible inclusions of golden-toned pyrite and white calcite. The beads are individually knotted on a blue cord for security and drape, finished with a silver-toned magnetic spherical clasp. The second necklace is an opera length strand consisting of polished, oval-shaped beads in varying shades of brown, honey-amber, and mahogany. These stones appear to be a mixture of tiger’s eye, exhibiting characteristic chatoyancy, and variegated agates. This necklace is strung on a brown cord and lacks a visible clasp, suggesting a continuous loop design. No hallmarks are visible on the metal components.
Condition report:
Both necklaces are in generally good condition. The lapis lazuli beads show some surface wear commensurate with age and use. The mixed brown stone beads are well-polished with minor natural surface irregularities typical of semi-precious materials. The magnetic clasp on the lapis lazuli necklace is functional.
