Description
This patinated sculpture depicts the Farnese Hercules, a muscular nude male figure rendered in the classical Greco-Roman style. The work features a highly articulated torso and a bearded head, characteristic of traditional depictions of the hero. The figure is presented in a fragmentary manner with the arms positioned behind the back, mounted on a square-stepped black plinth. The surface exhibits a dark greenish-black patina with some surface mottling and minor dust accumulation. No signatures, foundry marks, or edition numbers were observed on the sculpture or its base. The material appears to be cast, likely bronze or a dense resin-based composite.
Condition report:
The sculpture is in good overall condition with some minor surface dust and light mottling to the patina consistent with age and display. There are no visible cracks, chips, or significant structural issues to either the figure or the plinth.
