Description

A vintage military composition figure manufactured by O. & M. Hausser under the brand name Elastolin. The figure depicts a British or Commonwealth Army soldier in khaki service dress and a peaked cap, carrying a wounded comrade in a pick-a-back rescue pose. The rescued soldier is depicted with a white bandage around his head. Both figures are rendered wearing brown boots and generic tunic-style uniforms. The piece is constructed from a composition material, which is a mixture of sawdust, glue, and kaolin molded around an internal wire frame. The underside of the base features an incised maker’s mark reading ELASTOLIN.

Height: 11 cm.

Condition report:

The figure shows significant age-related wear including widespread paint loss and chipping across the uniforms and the base, exposing the underlying composition material. Surface cracking is present, which is typical for vintage composition figures. The base remains structurally intact.
