Description
This decorative wall mask is crafted in a West African style, characteristic of contemporary hand-carved pieces from Ghana. The mask is carved from a dense, dark-stained wood and features extensive embossed white metal overlays, likely aluminium. These metal panels are decorated with repousse and chased patterns, including concentric circles and geometric designs. The facial features are highly stylised with an elongated form, narrow slit eyes, and a long, slender nose. The upper portion of the mask is carved with vertical linear grooves. A metal hanging loop is fixed to the crown.

Condition report:
The mask is in good overall condition. There is minor surface wear and some tarnish to the aluminium overlays, consistent with age and decorative display. No significant cracks or losses to the wood or metalwork are visible.
