Description
A vintage domestic laundry washboard featuring a substantial wooden frame and a moulded glass scrubbing surface. The frame is constructed from unfinished timber, comprising two vertical side rails extending to form legs, a thick top rail, and two horizontal cross-members that secure the glass pane. The scrubbing surface is made of a single pane of translucent glass with diagonal, chevron-style ribbed moulding designed to provide friction during the washing process. The wooden surfaces exhibit a weathered patina and areas of darkening consistent with repeated exposure to water and domestic use. No manufacturer’s marks, brand names, or patent inscriptions are visible on the wood or glass components.
